This is another great issue of She-Hulk written by Dan Slott and drawn by Rick Burchett. It seems Shulkie is doing quite well as a new draftee by SHIELD. This time they got her on a mission to subdue Wendigo in the wilds of Northern Canada. Wolverine makes a guest appearance so you know She-Hulk is on a roll. With Wolverine, Wendigo, and a female Hulk all in the same issue, it’s obvious this is a comedic version of a similar encounter way back in issues #180-181 of The Incredible Hulk. That was Wolverine's 1st appearance for all you non-fanboys. Except this time She-Hulk makes a pass at Logan rather than getting into a fight with him as the Hulk did. The Hulk = angry, while the She-Hulk = horny?
Here’s a quote from Marvel’s website:
PLANET WITOUT A HULK: Part 2 of 4
"When the Hulk's away... SHE-HULK SMASH!" It's more two-fisted action as SHE-HULK, AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D., faces off against
Hulk-rogues around the globe! And this time she's brought some company: the one and only WOLVERINE! That's right, true believers! It's Green Genes and the Ol'Canucklehead in a tag-team like no other! So get ready for a smashin', slashin' slugfest that'll leave you cryin' for your mama, cryin' for more, and cryin' WEN-DI-GO!!!
She-Hulk looks great in this issue; in fact she sports a black bikini despite the full body suit on the cover. She looks kinda like the She-Hulk from the 1996 cartoon series. She’s sensuous and an ass-kicker. I also enjoyed that fact that she’s barefoot as well. I haven’t seen her run around like that since her savage days.
This issue has other stuff too, such as concerns with SHIELD not consulting with the Canadian supers and also catching up with She-Hulk’s cohorts at the legal office. But the prime focus is right were it needs to be on the knock down drag out fight with Wendigo. We get to see a bunch of Shukie’s green blood, in quite a startling manner. The fastball special comes into it (for X-men fans in the know) and Wolverine turns Jenny down with one of the best lines in comics ever. She-Hulk #16 is well illustrated, set’s future plots in a non-distracting way, has a great superhero fight, and proves once again why She-Hulk is the best superhero ever. Oh and why Dan Slott rocks!
She-Hulk #16 gets:
5 out 5 Green Kisses
-I love you She-Hulk
